Even before our first church opened it’s doors, the dream was in our hearts to one day plant a Spanish-speaking church in Antioch, Tennessee. In 2017, God brought Pastor Ramiro Cruz and his family to Middle Tennessee and opened the door for this to happen. We believe the best foundation for any initiative is prayer. So as the first step in seeing this church come to life, we are launching the Antioch Prayer Team with the hope of seeing over 1,000 people committing to pray specifically for the emerging work in Antioch.

As a member of this team, you will receive specific prayer requests weekly and we would ask that you faithfully join us in prayer over the course of these next several weeks, months, and years as we see what God has planned for Antioch.

Ramiro Cruz

Lead Pastor, COTC Antioch

Ramiro grew up in southern Mexico in a big family. Although his family was Christian, he didn’t begin to take his relationship with God seriously until the Holy Spirit made an indelible impression on him when he was 17. The next year he moved to Matamoros, Tamaulipas to study at the Center for Missions and Ministry. During his internship there he met his wife Melissa, a fellow missionary. Since moving to the United States in 2005 he has planted churches in Illinois and California and is now in the process of planting Church of the City Antioch. Ramiro graduated from Fuller Seminary with a masters degree in Theology and Ministry. Ramiro and Melissa have two children, Israel and Michelle. To connect with Pastor Ramiro, email him at
